Il Divo Date Night

Last night Dan and I joined the Il Divo groupies and attended their concert at the Delta Center (I refuse to refer to it as Energy Solutions Arena). It was my Mother's Day gift to me and Father's Day gift to him--not what he would ever have chosen for himself so someone had to step in. This was a wonderful concert! I have been tracking them for a couple of years since I first heard of them, but until now they had never toured in the USA. I would recommend to anyone that likes to spend lots of money and attend these things to watch for them in a city near you, however by the look of the gray-haired crowd in which we fit in perfectly, I'll have to just say we enjoyed every moment and leave it at that.

More news for today: This morning when I picked Rusty up to snuggle he let out a whimper. I quickly put him down and began the task of searching for his spot of pain. I didn't get very far before he was standing there screaming out in a constant barrage of top-of-his lungs yelps that sent me running to the phone to arrange a visit with the vet. We had a 2 hour wait before leaving during which he slowly appeared a little better and with an okay appetite, although still obviously miserable--nonstop shivering and very clingy. By the time we entered the vet's office, I had narrowed it down to what I thought might be an ear or his neck, and as we walked in he once again began to scream. The girl at the desk, with mind numbing intuition asked what they could do for us. My reply was "I don't know but whatever it is we need to hurry!" I can only wish that this long story had resolution, but alas we still don't know what happened to him. Her best guess was that he had strained his neck--probably during one of the many head-yanking, ear pulling episodes courtesy of Radar. He is on medication, and we are $300 poorer. Kids are cheaper.

HA! Kids are cheaper? What kids did you raise? Oh, me... Well, I can guarantee we weren't cheaper!

Poor Fudge made her exit from our household after snapping at the neighbor boy. The other two are in serious trouble with a mama moose, but have been a safe distance thus far.

So where did Fudge go? She seemed so sweet, and didn't snap like Cosmo. Are you still having problems with him? And whatever happened to the makeshift fence?

Fudge went to the animal shelter. The woman who was going to take her in finally decided she would just get more cats. Fudge was so sweet, but was beginning to get a little over protective and dangerous for people coming into our yard. I couldn't have that - especially since the little boy she snapped at is a lawyer's son. I made a point of telling the neighbor who didn't like her that she was gone, only so that her kids could be friends with my kids now that Fudge was gone. She went WAY out of her way to go down to the shelter and show them where Fudge bit her several years ago, so I am concerned about what the shelter has done with her. She has never been listed on their site. :(
