A Week At Grandma's--by Patch (aka "Spot")

On Thanksgiving Day Rameses and I were abandoned and left to be tormented by Grandma and Grandpa while our Mom and Dad went off to Alaska. Happy Thanksgiving to us---thanks a lot Mom!!

Grandma made me eat out of this stupid green ball.

You can't really tell by the picture, but Rameses got back at Grandma by whopping her in the eye with his thick skull. She has a nice, swollen black eye. When anyone asks what happened to her, she just tells them she was hit by a Greyhound. You see that picture above? Ha ha--she thinks she is making friends with me!

"I pee on Grandmas bedspread all the day." Oops, she found out and boy am I in trouble now. There went THAT short lived freedom.

Grandma passes out bananas for breakfast. I really like those, but there sure was a lot of competition and I had to wait my turn.

After a couple of days, I decided Mom and Dad weren't ever coming back to rescue us, so I thought maybe it was time to start liking the hands that feed us.

By day 4, I really needed some cuddling and I was willing to take what I could get. I even jumped in the middle of their bed in the morning and gave them a big kiss!

I can't figure out why Rusty and Radar don't like me. They don't seem to mind Rameses, and all he does is sleep--BOOOOOORING! Here I am all full of energy and playfulness. Rusty growls if I get near him, then he sticks his nose in the air and walks away rolling his eyes at me (my Mom is good at rolling her eyes--maybe he learned it from her).

Radar won't get off this dumb chair and play with me. He seems terrified of me and runs and hides when I get near him. I try so hard to play--I fly through the air and pounce on him, and I nip at his legs, and I've run over him a few times when I was running so fast--accidently, of course.
Grandma and Grandpa needed to get some work done in the basement and they were tired of holding Radar to keep him away from me, so they found a place where I couldn't play with him. Grandma thought he would complain.
He didn't complain.

Did you know that I can run down the hall and leap all the way from the doorway of Grandma's bedroom and land in the middle of her bed? I guess my time here wasn't all that bad, and I got lots and lots of treats, and even lots more lovin' when I allowed it. I sure do miss my Mom and Dad, though. I think Grandma misses them, too. She spends an awful lot of time outside with a shovel. I wonder why.

Thanks, Mom. Love you! Sorry Patch peed on your bed, he's never done that to me! Isn't he sweet? I can't wait to see what happens on days 5 and 6 (and part of 7). Can't wait to read that blog. FUN! Thanks again. We miss them as much as they miss us. See you on Wednesday.
